Drift away to beautiful Port Macquarie

Magnificent beaches, quiet coves, tranquil lakes, abundant wildlife. Such is the appeal of Port Macquarie, backed by a hinterland of mountains and rainforests.

A fine climate year round ensures pleasant sunny days to enjoy all of Port's attractions, both natural and man-made.

Soak up the sunshine on any one of our glorious beaches. The most popular are Flynns, Town and Lighthouse- all of which have free parking, barbecues refreshment kiosks and regular in-season lifesaving patrols. Good surfing can often be found at these beaches as well as at Bonny Hills, North Haven and Dunbogan further south.

If you want to get up close and personal to koalas, visit Koala Hospital, the headquarters of the Koala Preservation Society, or Billabong Koala Park.

Port Macquarie is rich in history. An early penal settlement, convict architecture is evident in St Thomas's Anglican church, the museum and courthouse.

Cruise the waterways of the Hastings River on a dolphin spotting cruise. Learn about oyster farming, or visit a local winery. Indulge in water sports such as boating, parasailing and jet-skiiing.

Those who live in Port Macquarie love this special valley and are delighted to share it with you.
